 The objectives of the Master Program in « Applied Linguistics and Foreign Language Teaching » are as follows:

  • Equip students with advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in applied linguistics, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics.
  • Provide specialized training in language acquisition theories and methodologies to enhance students' understanding of language learning processes.
  • Develop students' expertise in designing and implementing effective language teaching methodologies and curriculum development strategies.
  • Foster critical thinking and research skills through engagement with current issues and debates in the field of applied linguistics and foreign language teaching.
  • Offer opportunities for practical experience through internships, teaching assistantships, or research projects in educational settings.
  • Cultivate intercultural competence and awareness among students to effectively navigate diverse linguistic and cultural contexts in language teaching and learning.
  • Encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches by integrating insights from related fields such as psychology, sociology, anthropology, and technology into language education practices.
  • Prepare graduates for leadership roles in educational institutions, language centers, international organizations, and other professional settings where expertise in applied linguistics and foreign language teaching is valued.
  • Foster a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development by providing resources and support for continued growth in the field beyond graduation.

To be selected for the oral interview to join the Master Program in Applied Linguistics and Foreign Language Teaching, students should achieve a minimum score of 12 out of 20 or higher in the initial screening process)

  • Language Teacher: Teaching languages in educational institutions, language centers, or online platforms.
  • Curriculum Developer: Designing and developing language curricula and educational materials for schools, language institutes, or publishing companies.
  • Language Program Coordinator: Overseeing language programs and managing language teaching teams in educational institutions or language centers.
  • Educational Consultant: Providing expertise and guidance to schools, institutions, or organizations on language education policies, programs, and practices.
  • Language Assessment Specialist: Designing, administering, and evaluating language proficiency tests and assessments for educational or corporate purposes.
  • Intercultural Communication Specialist: Facilitating cross-cultural communication and understanding in diverse settings such as international businesses, NGOs, or government agencies.
  • Language Researcher: Conducting research in applied linguistics, language acquisition, language teaching methodologies, or related fields in academic or institutional settings.
  • Language Program Evaluator: Assessing the effectiveness and impact of language programs and interventions for educational institutions, government agencies, or non-profit organizations.
